| dc.description.abstract | El fenómeno de las migraciones en busca de mejores condiciones laborales y por ende mejores oportunidades de progreso no es precisamente un hecho nuevo. Desde los albores de la historia el hombre conoció como forma primigenia de subsistencia el nomadismo. Con el devenir de la agricultura esta forma de economía pareció desaparecer y sin embargo observamos que no es así. Desde el Imperio Romano, pasando por el descubrimiento de América y las migraciones europeas del siglo XIX y llegando hasta los grandes desplazamientos de la Posguerra Fría a fines de los años 40' y en los 50' luego de la segunda Guerra Mundial, hombres y mujeres de distintos puntos del globo, se han visto motivados o forzados a abandonar sus hogares. De este modo cargando lo poco que podían y con sus familias a la zaga, miles de seres humanos emprendieron el viaje a “la tierra prometida”, que ha variado de nombre y ubicación según sea el movimiento migratorio por estudiar. | spa |

| dc.description.abstractenglish | The phenomenon of migrations in search of better working conditions and therefore better opportunities for advancement is not just a new fact. Since the dawn of history, man has known nomadism as a primitive form of subsistence. With the development of agriculture, this form of economy seemed to disappear, and yet we see that it is not. From the Roman Empire, passing through the discovery of America and the European migrations of the 19th century and reaching the great displacements of the Post-Cold War at the end of the 40's and in the 50' after the Second World War, men and women from different parts of the globe have been motivated or forced to leave their homes. In this way, carrying what little they could and with their families trailing behind, thousands of human beings undertook the journey to the "promised land", which has varied in name and location depending on the migratory movement to be studied. | eng |
