This work proposes to mathematically model a solar thermal plant, implementing Fresnel technologies. The global model is structured by two thermodynamic cycles, the first is a heat transfer cycle that concentrates the solar radiation through mirrors. The heat available on the surface of the mirrors is directed to a receiver located at the focal point, through which an organic thermal oil (Therminol VP1) flows, reaching operating temperatures of 400 ° C. To take advantage of the useful heat absorbed by the thermal oil, the geometry was modeled to determine the angles that calculate the relative position of the sun with respect to the solar plant. In addition, the opto-geometric dimensions were modeled to calculate the shadow effect and the solar interception and the position of the receiver. An Organic Ranking Cycle (ORC) is integrated into the heat transfer cycle, which uses organic refrigerant fluids. The organic fluids used are R245fa, R600 and R236fa, due to their properties. The mass and energy balances in the work cycle were carried out according to each selected fluid, where the power generated by the turbine, the power consumed in the pump and the overall efficiency of the work cycle were determined. The values produced by the electric power model are subject to the variation of parameters, such as: ambient temperature, solar irradiation and wind speed.eng
