One of the greatest advances in medicine is studied from the legal and ethical point of view: The management of embryonic stem cells, which due to their characteristics allow the cure of intractable diseases and a new possibility of organ transplants. A review of some international laws and treaties was carried out. Debates have been generated about the consequences of biotechnological applications, as well as the growing problems that have arisen in medical practice. In Colombian legislation there is little regulation on the subject, there is no law on the conservation and use of embryos created in fertilization procedures. The proposal is to create a law that regulates assisted fertilization procedures. In relation to obtaining 4 to 8 embryos, FIGO recommends that two or three be implanted. By means of an informed consent, one or two embryos are donated to obtain CME that are extracted from day 4 to day 12, since during this stage there is a process of cell replication in the process of differentiation. This implies the destruction of the embryo; accepting that this destination is ethically less reprehensible, than discarding embryos, because the aim is to benefit other human beings.eng
