According to Moreno, Pérez, Hernández and Álvarez (2008, p. 3), early stimulation is a global action that is applied to children affected by a delay in their neurodevelopment or at risk of having it, due to some psycho-socio circumstance. -environmental, from birth to the first 5 or 6 years of life, carried out by an integral stimulator (defectologist, psychologist, physiatrist, specialist in physical culture) and the parents will continue at home what is taught by the stimulator, seeking to improve the quality of life for the infant and the development of the proprioceptive, sensory and cognitive system, in order to avoid future complications in the infant's childhood (Fernández, 2010). In addition, it should be aimed at optimizing the infant's capacities at a physical, mental, emotional and social level, providing the infant with the tools it needs for development, and the lack of stimulation could lead to irreversible and permanent effects on the infant's brain, because it alters the configuration possibilities of the various functional structures which are responsible for building the physiological basis of learning (Roselló et al. 2013).eng
