| dc.description.abstract | El objetivo de la presente investigación es conocer la manera en que pueden operar dos redes de alta velocidad como ATM y Frame Relay. Para el logro de éste, se realizó un estudio general sobre ATM y Frame Relay, donde se revisaron las diferentes recomendaciones de la TU y sus protocolos. Después de realizar el estudio anteriormente mencionado se elaboró una comparación entre estas dos redes enfocada en la señalización, para así observar sus diferencias y similitudes. Se prosiguió a indagar sobre la interoperatividad entre estas dos redes, y se encontró que hay un protocolo que realiza esta tarea, denominado IWWF (Interworking Function). Esta interoperatividad facilita los accesos a bajo costo de usuarios remotos de Frame Relay a las redes corporativas basadas en ATM. Para mejorar el entendimiento de este trabajo se diseñó un tutorial que implementa los parámetros de señalización y direccionamiento con el fin de mostrar la importancia de estas tecnologías de redes de alta velocidad. Este tiene en cuenta la Interoperatividad ATM - Frame Relay a través del protocolo IWF. | dc.description.abstractenglish | The objective of this research is to know how two high-speed networks such as ATM and Frame Relay can operate. To achieve this, a general study on ATM and Frame Relay was carried out, where the different recommendations of the TU and its protocols were reviewed. After carrying out the aforementioned study, a comparison was made between these two networks focused on signaling, in order to observe their differences and similarities. We continued to investigate the interoperability between these two networks, and it was found that there is a protocol that performs this task, called IWWF (Interworking Function). This interoperability facilitates low-cost access by remote Frame Relay users to ATM-based corporate networks. To improve the understanding of this work, a tutorial was designed that implements the signaling and addressing parameters in order to show the importance of these high-speed network technologies. This takes into account ATM Interoperability - Frame Relay through the IWF protocol.
