| dc.description.abstract | El artículo 731 del Código de Comercio establece que sí un cheque es presentado para su pago dentro de la oportunidad legal (quince días sí fue librado enla misma plaza donde debe ser cobrado, un mes sí se giró en otra plaza dentro del país, tres meses cuando sea librado en otro país latinoamericano y cuatro meses en los casos en que el giro se realice fuera de América Latina, según lo establece el artículo 718 ibídem) y no es pagado por causa imputable al librador, éste deberá abonar al tenedor una sanción equivalente al veinte por ciento del importe del cheque. | spa |

| dc.description.abstractenglish | Article 731 of the Commercial Code establishes that if a check is presented for payment within the legal opportunity (fifteen days if it was issued in the same place where it should be cashed, one month if it was drawn in another place within the country, three months when it is delivered in another Latin American country and four months in cases where the transfer is made outside of Latin America, as established in article 718 ibid) and is not paid for reasons attributable to the drawer, the latter must pay the holder a penalty equivalent to twenty percent of the amount of the check. | spa |
