| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | The Renewable Energy Laboratory of the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga has fixed solar panels of reference YL250P-29b to convert solar radiation into electrical energy, but due to its fixed position and angle of elevation, not all solar radiation can be used. during the day and therefore a system is required that allows the panels to change their inclination in relation to the Sun during the day. Normally to fully track the Sun two degrees of freedom are required in two rotation axes but given the geographical location of Colombia, it is close to the equator where it is possible to track the Sun using a single rotation angle in the inclination of the panels with an acceptable energy gain and for this reason the structure of the tracking system will be designed with a single axis. Photocells are commonly used to align the panel with the Sun, but in this case equations will be used to locate the Sun in the sky from the time and date, these data will be obtained from a real time clock (RTC) . From the equations, the angle of inclination of the photovoltaic panel on its axis is obtained, this angle is sent to a proportional derivative controller (PD) which controls a linear actuator connected by a crank mechanism to the axis of the solar tracker for convert its linear motion to rotary and align the solar panel to the Sun. | eng |
