| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | The purpose of this work is to perform a mathematical modeling to determine the technical financial feasibility of an electric power generation system located in Uribia, La Guajira. For this purpose, a characterization of the solar and wind resources and the demand of the Majayütpana Rural Ethno-educational Institution is carried out. The hybrid generation system consists of solar panels, wind turbine, battery bank and diesel generator, where it is proposed to model the system in MATLAB and evaluate the technical-financial feasibility for 5 scenarios of operation based on the levelized cost of energy. The photovoltaic generation model is based on the panel efficiency model, which has as input parameters the climatic conditions of the site, the technical data of the solar modules and the irradiation in inclined plane. The wind turbine model is based on the model developed by Pallabazer and the Weibull probability distribution. The diesel generator model is based on the hourly fuel consumption, which depends on the power generated, and the battery model determines the hourly charge and discharge energy, limiting this energy to a maximum and minimum state of charge. The simulation was performed for 5 possible scenarios of combination of technologies and the levelized cost of energy was calculated for each generation source. It was found that the lowest levelized cost corresponds to the solar panels - lithium battery bank scenario with a levelized cost of 0.548 USD/kWh, and the highest generation cost corresponds to the solar panels - wind turbine - diesel generator scenario, with a value of 3.89 USD/kWh. | spa |
