| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | The purpose of this work is to explore the weather derivatives market in the international context in order to make an approach to the Colombian market examining a possible application according to the characteristics of our market. For this, the products that exist so far whose underlying asset is a climatic variable, be it temperature, precipitation, humidity, snow or wind speed, are analyzed. A description will be made of the operation of the three main markets in the world, North America, Europe and Asia Pacific where currently trading weather derivatives, areas managed by the Chicago Mercantil Exchange, which is the Exchange that carries out the largest transactions so far. The Colombian market will give an overview of the exchanges that operate today and are relevant because they belong to sectors vulnerable to any climatic variable, such as Bolsa Agropecuaria Colombiana S.A. and the Energy Exchange who, after creating a Futures Exchange in Colombia, can develop and trade the financial products Derivatives of Climate. To create a Climate Derived product, a deep statistical and mathematical treatment of the climatic data taken from information provided by high-tech Meteorological Systems must be done beforehand, in order not to allow gaps or errors in the estimates and in this way to be able to carry out an accurate modeling. prices for a given contract, as discussed in Chapter 4. | spa |
