Objective: To determine the prevalence and factors associated with postpartum sexual dysfunction in women over 18 years of age in a second level care hospital in Bucaramanga, Santander. Materials and methods: A prospective longitudinal panel-type study was carried out in 232 women, using sequential sampling in a second-level care hospital in Bucaramanga, between 2019 and 2020. Women older than 18 years in the puerperium with a stable sexual partner were included. And who agreed to participate in the study and women with physical and / or cognitive limitations to answer the survey or with loss of their children during study follow-up were excluded. A univariate, bivariate and loss analysis was performed with sociodemographic, clinical, and psychological factors associated with sexual dysfunction, using STATA 14.0. Results: The incidence of sexual dysfunction in women in the postpartum period was 62.5%, the most common postpartum sexual problem was orgasmic sexual dysfunction in 33.2%, followed by excitatory dysfunction in 19%. 93.8% of the women at five months had already restarted their sexual life, in 47% of the cases they had done it through intercourse, followed by kisses plus touching in 22.4%. When the sexual function score analysis was performed before pregnancy and six months after the puerperium, it was statistically significant in the domains of desire (p = <0.0001 *), arousal (p = 0.0001*) and sexual satisfaction (p = 0.012*). Conclusion: According to the high prevalence of sexual disorders in this study, health systems should pay more attention to this area. More studies are required, not only to verify these findings but also to evaluate the impact of other factors in this postpartum period, allowing improvement and impact on the management of this pathology.spa
