dc.description.abstractUn sistema de gestión de la energía es una herramienta cuyo objetivo principal es instaurar requisitos mínimos y específicos que permitan buscar continuamente la reducción del consumo de energía, aumentando la eficiencia energética en los procesos y destinando su buen uso. Actualmente, muchas empresas están trabajando sobre sus recursos estratégicos, como por ejemplo la energía, enfocándose en producir más con menos o reducir sus consumos y costos. Este trabajo muestra el diseño e implementación de un sistema de gestión de la energía en una empresa local de Bucaramanga dedicada a la manufactura de cables eléctricos. Se dio inicio al sistema de gestión dejando claro el contexto de la organización y las responsabilidades por parte de la alta dirección; se establecieron los compromisos con el sistema de gestión de la energía y se procedió a la evaluación del desempeño energético el cual permitió identificar que el 70% del consumo de energía eléctrica se centraba solo en seis máquinas de las 31 que hay en total y en los equipos de servicio industrial como chillers y compresores. Con los planes de acción tomados ante los hallazgos evidenciados, se lograron reducir las pérdidas un 34.76% en la devastadora de la unidad de trefilado por el cambio del motor y se encontró un potencial de ahorro de $23’901.134 al año en la unidad de aire comprimido. Con los resultados obtenidos la empresa decidió empezar a adaptar el sistema de gestión de la energía dentro de su sistema de gestión integral y destinar recursos para promover la mejora continua del desempeño energético.spa

dc.description.abstractenglishAn energy management system is a tool whose main objective is to establish minimum and specific requirements that make it possible to continuously seek the reduction of energy consumption, increasing energy efficiency in processes and allocating its proper use. Currently, many companies are working on their strategic resources, such as energy, focusing on producing more with less resources consumption and costs. This project shows the design and implementation of an energy management system in a local company in Bucaramanga dedicated to the manufacture of electrical cables. The management system making clear the context of the organization and the responsibilities of senior management; Commitments with the energy management system were established and the energy performance evaluation was carried out, which allowed identifying that 70% of electrical energy consumption was focused only on six machines out of 31 that there are in total and on the industrial service equipment such as chillers and compressors. With the action plans taken it was possible to reduce losses by 34.76% in the devastating drawing unit due to the change of the motor and a potential saving of $ 23,901,134 per year was found in the compressed air system. With the results obtained, the company decided to start adapting the energy management system within its comprehensive management system and allocate resources to promote continuous improvement of energy performance.eng
