The elective practice of deepening of the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga aims to achieve the integration of scientific evidence, the know-how and what to do of the nurse, to achieve a standard of continuous improvement in professional practice, which is reflected in the processes of care in the patient safety program, where the safety policy is implemented under the focus of the guide of “good practices for patient safety in health care”. Objective: To implement strategies to strengthen the patient safety program of the E.S.E ISABU under the focus of good practices in health care. Design an investigative component on direct costs of the conventional treatment of patients with venous ulcers. To determine the level of knowledge and perception in palliative care of the nursing and medicine students of the UNAB, through the application of the Rotterdam MOVE2PC scale. Methodology: The respective assessment of the practice site was carried out, through direct observation, survey / interview and databases, after this the diagnosis is made through the SWOT matrix and finally the prioritization of problems was carried out through the HANLON method. Regarding the investigative component of direct costs of the conventional treatment of patients with venous ulcer, this is a descriptive, retrospective cross-sectional study. A search was carried out for the medical records of patients who met the CEAP VI venous ulcer criteria not resolved with conventional treatment, obtaining a total of 31 patients. Regarding the investigative component of Perception and knowledge in palliative care of nursing / medicine students of the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga, a descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out whose population was 149 nursing and medicine students who are studying at least sixth and ninth semester, respectively . Measurements were made by applying the Rotterdam MOVE2PC scale, Spanish version. Results: 100% of the UIMIST nursing staff were trained and evaluated on the protocol for the administration of medications, bladder catheterization, hospital isolation, venipuncture and prevention of phlebitis, obtaining favorable results since 100% of the staff showed that they have knowledge of institutional protocols. Regarding the hand washing protocol, 143 people were trained, exceeding the goal of 85% that corresponds to 97 people from the ISABU E.S.E. Knowledge measurement about the hand washing protocol was carried out, 91.3% (53 people) of the ESE ISABU staff were evaluated, where it was obtained that 89% (47 people) passed the test, taking into account that it was approved with 80%. 37 people were trained on the Biosafety Manual, exceeding the goal by 102.7%, because it was planned to train 36 people, which corresponds to 100%, after the training, the knowledge measurement was carried out where it was obtained that the 100% (37 people) passed the test.eng
