dc.description.abstractLa planta compresora Yariguies, objeto de este estudio se encuentra ubicada a 160 km de Bucaramanga, (capital del departamento de Santander Colombia), exactamente en puerto Wilches, un municipio rivereño, el cual forma parte de la provincia de Mares, asentado sobre la margen derecha del rio magdalena. Entre el municipio de Cantagallo (Bolivar) a la margen izquierda del magdalena y puerto Wilches, se encuentran aproximadamente 300 pozos productores de crudo y gas, pertenecientes a la empresa colombiana de petróleos Ecopetrol S.A., bajo la administración de la Superintendencia de Operaciones del Rio (SOR). En teoría todo el gas producido en esta región debe ser comprimido en la estación Yariguies, pero, debido al proceso de recuperación del campo mediante inyección de agua, se ha presentado un aumento de producción de gas, que supera la actual capacidad de compresión de la planta, este excedente de gas no debe ser liberado a la atmosfera, por lo cual es quemado, lo cual viola el artículo 52 de la resolución RESOLUCION 18 1495 DEL 2 DE SEPTIEMBRE DE 2009, que prohíbe la quema de gas y desperdicio, además de perder la posibilidad de generar dividendos económicos producto de la venta de este recurso.spa

dc.description.abstractenglishThe Yariguies compressor plant, object of this study, is located 160 km from Bucaramanga, (capital of the department of Santander Colombia), exactly in Puerto Wilches, a riverine municipality, which is part of the Mares province, located on the margin right of the Magdalena river. Between the municipality of Cantagallo (Bolivar) on the left bank of Magdalena and Puerto Wilches, there are approximately 300 oil and gas producing wells, belonging to the Colombian oil company Ecopetrol SA, under the administration of the Rio Operations Superintendency ( SOR).
