| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | Oil wells are generally drilled with the rotary method. In this type of drilling, a tower supports the drill string, made up of a series of coupled tubes. The chain is rotated by attaching it to the rotating bench located on the tower floor. The rock is brought to the surface by a continuous system of circulating fluid driven by a pump, after reaching the required depth "geological target" the sands of interest are cannonaded, production tests are carried out and it is determined if based on energy of the reservoir, the well must be by natural flow and / or failing that, an artificial lifting system is required, by electro-submersible pumping, pumping through progressive cavities and ultimately mechanical pumping to make the respective completion and place the production of the well. As the fluid is extracted from the reservoir, its pressure and flow decrease little by little, as well as the amount of dissolved gas, caused by the depletion of the reservoir. The variability of the well is analyzed by the reservoir and production control area to identify if the lifting system by natural and artificial flow is the most appropriate and based on the analysis and optimization and the cost-benefit relation, the migration to the best system of pumping. When production from the well approaches its economic limit, only a fraction of the oil may have been removed from the reservoir. For this reason, pumping systems have been developed to optimize production. With these artificial lift systems and underground technologies, the oil recovery factor has been increased to reach a global average of 33% of the oil present. Finally, fluid levels (water cut increases significantly) and the percentage of crude oil decreases ostensibly, making the costs of lifting it to the surface very high; that is, the costs per OPEX (the operating cost of the well) is greater than the income that can be obtained from the sale of crude oil (after deducting operating expenses, taxes, insurance and returns on capital). This means that the economic limit of the well has been reached, so its exploitation is abandoned. | eng |
