| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | Initially the basis of Western music was strongly influenced by the Medieval Modes, used by ecclesiastics from the 6th to the 11th centuries, taking advantage of the richness of its seven scales. This trend evolved through the centuries, later being reduced to the use of only two scales (Ionic and Aeolian), forming the rules of tonal music, while the remaining Modes were lagging behind. As a composer and performer, I consider it interesting to creatively introduce the musical field of this region of Colombia, the resources of these pioneering structures, recognized worldwide; In this degree project this personal interest is developed, representing each mode with a short and simple piece to facilitate its understanding, using and adapting some rhythms of popular music. The format used would be an instrumental quintet made up of. Alto saxophone, piano, electric guitar, electric bass and drums. Complementary to this, a work is included that combines several modes, so that the student understands that it is possible to compose works of greater interest and extension without the limitation of a single scale. | eng |
