dc.description.abstractenglishFernando Savater, as a prologue in his book 'The value of educating', suggests two basic scales that can be pointed out to gauge the humanistic development of a society. The first is the treatment and consideration he gives to his teachers, and the second is his penitentiary system, which has as much to do with the previous operation as a dark reverse.1 In the current circumstances I would add one more, of the greatest importance, about the attitude and the growth of the culture around the elderly, especially in societies that are preceded by gerontocracy, both at the political level and at the level of institutions that run the academy, which is why the lack of development of gerontology and geriatrics is strange.eng
