The data suggest that the prevalence of nicotine use in patients with mental disorders, hospitalized or outpatients, is greater than the reference population, is higher in the male population and is significantly related to the diagnosis of substance use and the presence of psychotic symptoms (schizophrenia and bipolar disorder). More research is needed.eng
