| spa |

dc.description.abstractenglish | Doctors and other health professionals can work as clinicians or teachers, and in these contexts interpersonal relationships are present that arouse all kinds of feelings. Thus, a health professional may feel sexual attraction to patients, relatives of patients, or students under their guidance. The prevalence of sexual relations between doctors and patients in other countries ranges from 4 to 11%. While the prevalence of relationships between teachers and students is around 3%. Sexual relations with current patients or students are always considered unethical conduct. However, there is controversy about the relationships between doctors and former patients. Sexual relations between doctors and patients are a form of sexual abuse and violate the autonomy of the patient. Doctor-patient sexual relations have negative legal consequences for professionals and psychological consequences for patients. Likewise, sexual relations with students have a negative impact on them. Health professionals must identify the sexual attraction that some patients may generate, it is necessary to be alert and prevent any sexual approach. Undoubtedly, it is necessary to strengthen their ethical training with the aim of making the principles of beneficence and autonomy prevail | eng |
