At the moment, it is been given greater relevance to the disfunction of beta cells since the begining of the disease without leaving apart the periferic insulin resistance that is already known. The progresive failure of these pancreatic cells leads to a poor glicemic control with an early use of inslin therapy. In these article it ́s presented in a simple way the function of insulin therapy in DM 2, indications, insulin dosification metods, adverse effects and wished goals for glicemic control in diabetic patients.
