Additionally, the imaging follow-up performed with optical coherence tomography is shown, which allows clear observation of the acute episode but beyond its diagnosis through observation of the fundus. Methodology: A case of optic neuritis is presented in a 25-year-old woman who consulted for blurred vision and photophobia; Blurring and marked hyperemia of the optic disc associated with marked loss of visual acuity in the left eye were found in the fundus; He has a history of a nonspecific viral episode, so a diagnosis of anterior optic neuritis is made, possibly of postviral origin. Demyelinating disease is clinically ruled out. Conclusions: Optic neuritis is a rare pathology that has serious implications in terms of irreversible loss of visual acuity if timely diagnosis and treatment are not performed; In this particular case, a viral origin was suspected although it was not confirmed.[Cárdenas PL, Parra JC, Hernández G, Gonzales C.
